Planning
The first thing we need to do is gather information and discuss your vision of the website. Some of the topics we would discuss is the concept, content, site map and technologies that will be used on the site.
- Concept - What's the general idea or the goal of the site? Do you want to provide information, promote a service, or sell a product?
- Content - What kind of information will visitors find on your site? Will there be articles, images, or forms?
- Site Map - What topics will the website cover and what pages are required for those topics?
- Technologies - Would you want to use interactive forms, e-commerce, content management, etc.?
Design
This stage of the project is where we would create the template that will be used for the site. The template will define the colors, fonts, and images that will be used throughout the entire website.
The scope of this stage of the project would mainly depend on the method of design you choose. A couple of design methods that are available would be to create a new design from scratch or purchase an existing template. The time frame and budget of a project often determines what method is used since purchasing a template is usually the faster and easier method.
Development
In the development stage, we would take all the information that we've gathered and begin putting it together. This may involve structuring a database, programing functions and scripts, and building all the pages of the site. All elements of the site such as account login, animations, shopping carts, and administration pages would be implemented and made functional.
Testing
At this point, the site is functioning and nearly complete, but the development is not necessarily done. Before we deliver the final website it has to be tested for complete functionality. All the final details need to be checked in multiple browsers across different operating systems to make sure the site will function properly for all your visitors. We also need to be sure all of the code that has been written validates and meets the current web development standards.
Delivery
This is the final stage of the project before it is made public. This stage is usually pretty straight forward. Using an FTP program the files are simply uploaded to your server and any databases that are required would then be imported. The site is put through one last run-through, to confirm that all files have been uploaded correctly, and that everything is functioning as expected.

Maintenance
Now that the site is running, you may want to keep up with regular maintenance.
An important part of running a website is to get your visitors to keep coming back, and one way to do that is to keep the content of your site fresh. You may want to update information, images, or products on a regular basis.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is also an important part of website maintenance. This is the process of adding proper page titles, descriptions, and keywords to your site to improve the rankings in the various search engines.
